I’ve almost completed my content with your template. Thank you.

I have a couple of irritations though. I’ve provided a link to screenshots which I’ve cut and pasted into 1 image. These are (other than 1) screenshots of the original template files (I haven’t altered anything). You’ll see the altered image which is mine (as the menu bar has different headings).

I’ve circled what the issues are – firstly, you will notice a line running vertically down the menu buttons to the left of the first letter of each highlighted menu heading. Is there anything I can do to get rid of this line? This only appears on IE (version I’m using is 8 ). This does not appear on other browsers – for my testing, it does not appear on chrome or safari, so it appears to be an IE issue.

The bottom of the screenshot shows the other issue. ie – The sub-menu buttons are not showing up properly all the time (again this screenshot is from your original files – I have done nothing to alter it). The buttons either appear 1/. with an extra line at the bottom of them (the left part of the screenshot), 2/. correct (where I have ticked), or 3/. with a line missing at the bottom of the image (where the read more text button is). Again this is with IE. It’s ok with chrome and safari.

So, the second question; Is there anything I can do to consistently show the image correctly?

I’ve just uploaded a new update for this theme.

This update will include a new page especially for portfolio items. Furthermore i’ve added extra controls to the single pages so you can easily navigate back to where you came from

I like this template a lot, but i was trying it in IE6 and IE7 and it works kind of slow and also the slide on the front page pushes the images on the right, forcing the scroll, and when you try to slide them it doesn’t hide the image, it just pushes it on the left side and it’s still visible. Is that only with me and my IE browsers or? By the way i think this is one of the best portfolio designs i have seen so far, you have done a really great job.

Go to line 21 and replace the URL address with ./contact/contact-send.php Seems that the address of my local server was still there

Contact form not working for me. I thought it had to do with my customization so I uploaded all the original html to my server and when I press Submit it transitions into Loading… but just stays there and I receive no email, which I changed in line 50 per the instructions.

I’m a happy customer and like this template very much. It is easy to edit and the support is good. I just wished this template would at least one have one page with a sample form on it like a contact form (non working would be fine for me).

I know that this is included in V2 of this template but as I can see from the comments this will be a seperate theme instead of an upgrade, correct?

But still I would recomend this template for everybody.

I am going to purchase this theme but had a quick question before I did. How hard will it be for me to add a left and right arrow to the content slider? I have knowledge in html, css, php and would use photoshop to add the arrows to the psd. I am still learning but figure this will require basic css and some changes to the javascript….right? Is there a limit to the number of rotating banners you can use on the homepage? I can’t get it to show more than 3 and ideally I need 5 to loop.

Also, the images are hidden until the full page has loaded and then they appear one after the other – is there an easy way to stop this and have all images (apart from the banners) visible immediately?

Clarification on the menu post I made.

At times, the menu appears behind the slider in Google Chrome only sometimes. I know that sounds strange, but when I leave your template running for a while (in Chrome), the slider seems to goof up the drop-down menu system.

groan. i searched for “castle” and this was the first result. I bought the wrong one, really sucktar.

here’s the usability analysis: “Castle – 9 in 1 Professional Blog Template” didn’t say “NOT a WordPress template” so when I saw this as the first search result, I didn’t think to look at the other results. The page titles for both themes get cut off as “Castle – 9 in 1 Professional …”; the differentiating factor (i.e. one is WordPress and the other is DIY ) is not apparent anywhere but in the fine print.

Anyway, small usability fix to mod the theme titles s.t. the differentiating feature is up front… just a suggestion.

this is a really nice theme, but it doesn’t install on WP 3 .0, which I find highly annoying. The help file doesn’t have any special instructions for how to install it. Using the default theme installation function in WP to install this theme:

Warning: fopen(.../wp-content/themes/castle-9-in-1-professional-blog-template-source/style.css) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in …/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4165

Castle doesn’t follow WP’s guidelines for theme structure, which menas that now I’m going to have to go through a lot of annoying nonsense to figure out what that theme structure is and hopefully get the thing installed.

Do you have any instructions for how to get your theme installed properly? You should include them in a how-to.html file with the theme—or better yet, make the theme auto-install properly.
